SAP SuccessFactors 2026 releases – key changes to anticipate

Share

The upcoming SuccessFactors 1H 2026 release is approaching (Preview: April 13 / Production: May 15–16) and includes several important changes that may impact your SuccessFactors landscape. In addition, we already know that the 2H 2026 release will also introduce major updates across the platform, making 2026 an important transition year for SuccessFactors.

These changes represent a good opportunity to review your current configuration, anticipate upcoming deprecations, and ensure your platform remains aligned with SAP’s latest standards and innovations.

Below is a preview of some of the key topics to anticipate in the 2026 releases.

Key topics to anticipate in the 1H 2026 release

Latest People Profile – Universal Activation

With the 1H 2026 release, the Latest People Profile – Full Profile View will become universally activated across all tenants (production on May 15, 2026). Organizations should review their profile configuration, permissions, and potential custom extensions to ensure a smooth transition.

Deprecation of Legacy Goal Management (Performance & Goals)

While this change has been announced for some time, it is now important to start planning the transition to the Latest Goal Management framework. The legacy version will be fully deleted on December 31, 2026.

Rehire Inactive Employees Page Removal

The legacy Rehire Inactive Employees page will be deleted on May 14, 2027. Organizations should adopt the updated rehiring processes based on Manage Pending Hires and Duplicate Check functionalities.

Onboarding 1.0 Decommissioning

The legacy Onboarding 1.0 solution will be deleted with the 1H 2026 release, requiring customers still using it to transition to the New Employee Onboarding solution.

Looking ahead to the 2H 2026 release

The 2H 2026 release will also introduce several important changes, including:

Legacy Home Page removal

The legacy home page experience will be deleted on November 13, 2026.

Partial Organization SSO removal

The Partial Organization Single Sign-On functionality will be deleted on November 13, 2026, requiring organizations to transition to modern authentication approaches such as SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS).

Deprecation of Basic Authentication and Third-Party Corporate Identity Provider (IdP) Direct Integration

Legacy authentication mechanisms will also be deleted on November 13, 2026, reinforcing the move towards modern identity and access management architectures.

Pay Scale Picklist Fields Deprecation (Employee Central)

Legacy pay scale picklists are being phased out and will be deleted on November 20, 2026. Organizations should plan the migration towards MDF-based pay scale objects.

These upcoming changes provide an opportunity to modernize your SuccessFactors landscape, improve security, and align with SAP’s latest platform standards.
