Can you introduce yourself and your role at Expertum?
I’m Andy van Utrecht, Team Lead Supply Chain Management at Expertum the Netherlands. My background has always been in supply chain management and manufacturing, and over the years, my interest in SAP has grown steadily. About five years ago, I moved into a role as an SCM consultant. Today, I’m working on a challenging assignment at Perfetti Van Melle as a PP/DS business consultant, while also leading our growing SCM team in the Netherlands.
What led to the decision to expand the SCM team at Expertum in the Netherlands?
As Expertum continues to grow and take on larger, more complex projects, we saw the need to strengthen our local supply chain presence in the Netherlands. We already have strong teams in Belgium, Croatia, and Slovenia, and the collaboration between these regions works really well. But to meet increasing local demand and maintain our high standards, it made sense to build a dedicated Dutch team.
How do the regional teams work together across countries?
Collaboration is a core strength for us. Teams across countries share knowledge, expertise, and lessons learned on an ongoing basis. This cross-border cooperation gives us a broader perspective when solving complex challenges and allows us to deliver more robust solutions. It’s a clear example of how we operate as one Expertum team. And it also creates more career opportunities, as consultants can engage with diverse industries and international projects.
What does the future of SAP Supply Chain Management look like from your perspective?
It’s a very exciting time for SAP SCM. We’re seeing major innovations: technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are being integrated into SAP solutions, helping companies predict demand more accurately, automate decision-making, and optimize operations. Digital supply chains are also becoming more agile and resilient, which is crucial in today’s fast-changing world. Sustainability is playing a bigger role too, and SAP is offering more tools to help companies track and reduce their environmental footprint. It’s a dynamic and forward-looking space, and one where we can truly make an impact. For SAP professionals, it’s an exciting time to be part of this evolution.
